The proposed project aims to enhance the capacity of organisations working with young people and create and test a new policy that
combines approved good practices to tackle youth unemployment in an innovative and more focused way. We will combine two successful
practices, namely the Living Labs and the Open Innovation to create and test a new model that can strengthen the skills of the young
people and facilitate their integration to the labour market. We will create a Youth Living Lab in each participating country (Greece, Spain,
Cyprus, Jordan and Egypt) where youth people can build and experiment on open innovation processes and skills to solve real problems of
local companies through an open innovation platform. The winners of the companies’ challenges will be rewarded an internship in the
company to implement the new solutions.
The overall objective of the Youth Living Lab project is to construct an evidence-based, replicable, market-driven model for long term
unemployed people between 25-29 years old NEETs integration in local societies and workforce and increase their skills. The integration is
augmented with the provision of services through a network of youth living labs that coordinates and supports the training of the target
groups in open innovation and design thinking skills that complement their own skills and match the needs and trends of local economies
in order to solve real challenges of local companies. Youth Living Labs will be completely viable even after the implementation as all the
new tools, the new services and the results will be accessible to all partners and interested parties for further exploitation..
