The promising start sets the
stage for our time here, and we
can’t wait to continue our work
as well as exploring the charms
of beautiful Plovdiv over this
weekend.
During our 1st week of volunteering in Petrich,
Bulgaria, time seemed to fly by as we enjoyed our
moments. Despite the chilly weather upon our arrival,
we quickly warmed up through bonding over delicious
traditional Bulgarian food, specially the Banitsa for
breakfast.
Engaging in team-building exercises and
evening games further strengthened our bond and we
became like a big family.
We were then divided into 2 teams to start renovating
the huts and taking care of the surrounding nature.
Our tasks included a lot between, cutting branches,
cleaning, gardening and painting, we had great time
bonding and chatting while working and eating by day
and chatting and dancing by night.
